Dutch leather manufacturer Ecco revamps its collaborative project, At.Kollektive, with a fresh name and a line up of renowned designers.
The Netherlands-based footwear giant Ecco has unveiled a new chapter for its sustainable leather initiative, At.Kollektive. Now known as Ecco.Kollektive, the project steps into its fifth edition with a revitalised name and a line up of exciting design collaborators.
Since its inception, the project has aimed to showcase the potential of leather as a sustainable material. Since 2022, Ecco, the parent company of the Ecco shoe brand and a supplier to major luxury labels, has been enlisting creative talents to design capsule collections using Ecco leather. This year's rebrand to Ecco.Kollektive signifies a stronger association with the Ecco name, potentially reflecting a desire for wider recognition of the project's sustainable practices.
More importantly, the new season brings a fresh wave of design talent. Ecco.Kollektive has tapped established names like British menswear designer Craig Green and the duo behind Berlin-based womenswear line Ottolinger (Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient). French menswear designer Louis Gabriel Nouchi also joins the roster, adding further diversity to the project. This selection of collaborators highlights Ecco.Kollektive's committed to showcasing sustainable leather's versatility across various design aesthetics.
As the fashion industry grapples with the environmental impact of traditional leather production, Ecco.Kollektive serves as a platform for innovative design. Along with sustainable practices, the collaborative collective has the potential to influence how the future of leather unfolds.
