Showcasing everything we love about the brand.

The Sacai Autumn/Winter 2024 show space was a portal of pulsating green light. The rhythmic ebb and flow of its luminescence could be interpreted as a subtle nudge towards mindful breaths, a welcome respite amidst the whirlwind of Fashion Week.

This immersive environment served as a fitting prelude to Chitose Abe's masterful deconstruction and reconstruction on the runway. The collection, a feast for the eyes even on a single viewing, was filled with intricate details that ultimately define Sacai.

Drop shoulders, one of Abe's key themes this season were seen throughout the collection. A deconstructed suit jacket sleeve, salvaged from its original garment, found new life seamlessly integrated one-third of the way down another top's arm, showcasing the hybrid nature of the collection. Knitwear trimmed internally with lace that could be seen peeping through panels also appeared on the runway, whilst suit trousers were attached to footwear to create a thigh-high effect.

Abe, an avid lover of the puffer jacket, attached it to the back of oversized blazers this season giving off a 'business as usual' look in the front. Another standout look from the collection was a white button up shirt that merged two garments from the collar down, creating a visually intriguing effect that could be zipped down into an overcoat. To further amplify the unconventional style, Abe incorporated cascading ruffles at the sides, reminiscent of a deconstructed jacket, adding an unexpected twist to the otherwise timeless silhouettes.

A multi-sensory experience that resonated deeply, Chitose Abe brought forth the spirit of the brand with her AW24 collection.
