The renowned Pirelli Calendar has unveiled its latest instalment for 2024, marking a departure from its traditional approach of featuring supermodels and instead embracing a more artistic and personal narrative.
Helmed by Ghanaian-born visual artist Prince Gyasi, the calendar delves into the theme of "Timeless," exploring the concept of transcending the boundaries of time and defying conventional notions of success and validation. Gyasi, known for his vibrant and captivating portraiture, brings his unique artistic vision to the calendar, creating a series of images that are both visually striking and deeply personal. The portraits are characterised by their bold colours, dynamic compositions, and intimate portrayals of his subjects.
Reflecting the calendar's shift towards a more artistic and personal focus, the subjects of Gyasi's photographs are not limited to supermodels but rather encompass a diverse range of cultural figures, including His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene; Ghanaian artist Amoako Boafo; Naomi Campbell, the iconic supermodel; actress and activist Angela Bassett; writer Margot Lee Shetterly; and youth activist Amanda Gorman.

In a departure from the traditional calendar format, the 2024 edition features a limited number of pages, with each image taking centre stage. This approach allows for a more immersive and contemplative experience, inviting the viewer to engage with each photograph on its own merits. The calendar's theme "Timeless" resonates through its focus on the individual's journey, highlighting the triumphs and accomplishments of individuals who have defied societal expectations and achieved personal success on their terms.
The Pirelli Calendar 2024, under the artistic direction of Prince Gyasi, marks a bold departure from tradition, embracing a more personal and artistic approach that celebrates individuality, cultural diversity, and the pursuit of timeless excellence. Head to the website to view the full calendar.
