Jared Ellner, a renowned stylist known for dressing stars like Sabrina Carpenter and Emma Chamberlain, has now ventured into fashion design with the launch of his own namesake label. Although celebrated for his styling work with high-profile clients, Ellner has harboured a lifelong dream of becoming a designer. He recalls his early days in college, creating hand-made knitwear and unique capsule collections, long before he began his successful career in styling. His return to design, he reveals, feels like a full-circle moment, fulfilling a goal he's held close since his fashion journey began.
Ellner's debut collection is an ode to femininity and romance, influenced by a serendipitous discovery of vintage ribbons in Los Angeles. This chance find sparked his imagination, leading him to craft handbags that appear wrapped in delicate ribbons, a signature element of the collection. Described as a blend of Marie Antoinette's decadence and Paris Hilton's playful style, the pieces include checkerboard mini-skirts and crinkled corsets, appealing to a fashion-forward audience. Ellner’s collection stands out not only for its intricate designs but also for its commitment to local sourcing, with all materials obtained in downtown Los Angeles.
Emma Chamberlain, Ellner’s close friend and long-time collaborator, stars in the campaign for his new brand, bringing their professional and personal bond into the spotlight. Chamberlain has long been one of Ellner’s most notable muses, frequently landing on best-dressed lists thanks to his styling. For this launch, she poses in a bold, nearly nude campaign, showcasing the line’s standout handbag designs and embodying the elegance and edge Ellner strives to convey. Chamberlain expressed her pride in supporting Ellner’s brand, calling him her "fashion soulmate" and noting that the collection perfectly captures his unique vision and creative flair.
The collection, which includes three bustiers, two miniskirts, and a handbag, is priced between $450 and $1,050 and available exclusively on Ellner’s website, launching November 11. This direct-to-consumer approach reflects Ellner's hands-on, personal investment in the brand's growth. For Ellner, who has already made a name for himself as a stylist to the stars, this new endeavour into fashion design represents a merging of his past aspirations with his present expertise, introducing his aesthetic to the wider fashion world in a fresh and personal way.
